If there was anyone to play the late, great Robin Williams in a biopic, you can't do much better than budding actor Jamie Costa ...

Fans of the legendary comedian felt like they were watching him in action again after a "screen test" was uploaded to YouTube this week.

To say the similarities between the two are uncanny would be something of an understatement.

The quirky mannerisms, the chaotic pace, and even the voice of Williams was captured flawlessly in the five-minute clip.

The eerie video shows Costa portraying Williams – who passed away in 2014 – back in 1982 when he was about to finish working on the hit TV comedy, Mork & Mindy.

Wearing the iconic colourful jumper, Williams is in his dressing room on the set of the show, as costar Pam Dawber, played in the clip by Sarah Murphree, breaks the news of John Belushi's death.

The footage has since received over 2.2 million views, with commenters wowed by Costa's performance.

"I literally got goosebumps! I have never seen an actor transform into someone so well-known, and make you feel you are seeing the original … he should win an OSCAR for this clip alone!" one commenter said.

"Whoa. Just whoa. I felt like I was watching Robin. Incredible job. Hell yeah!" another wrote.

The iconic actor and star of such films as Good Morning Vietnam and Mrs Doubtfire took his own life in 2014, at the age of 63.
