Queen's Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy wows with haunting cover of Petula Clark's 'Downtown'

It turns out Anya Taylor-Joy's talent goes well beyond the big screen ...

Featuring in the first official trailer for Last Night in Soho, the Queen's Gambit star performs a haunting downtempo rendition of Petula Clark's 1964 hit 'Downtown.'

In the preview, Taylor-Joy stands behind a mic in a recording studio and croons the iconic track, backed by an eerie string section.

As the 25-year-old's ethereal voice plays out, the screen fills with images from the upcoming Edgar Wright-directed horror-thriller.

Clark's signature hit 'Downtown' hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in January 1965 and was ushered into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2003.

Over the years, it has been covered by everyone from Dolly Parton to the Osmond Brothers, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Frank Sinatra and Baby Spice Emma Bunton.
