As Coronation Street star Sally Dyvenor took to the rink on this week's Dancing on Ice, she was tasked with performing a routine that represented something or someone she loved: George Michael.

Ahead of her special tribute to the legendary musician, Dyvenor explained that she had met and become friends with Michael after he popped by the British soap opera set in the '80s.

"He came and I showed him down Coronation Street," the 58-year-old told viewers.

"I've been a fan of George Michael for many many years. He came along in the '80s and I instantly thought he was absolutely fantastic.

"More than anything, I want to do this justice and pull this off for George."

Dyvenor then performed an impressive routine to the Wham! star's hit song 'Faith' alongside with partner Matt Evers.

Michael passed away peacefully at his home on Christmas Day in 2016, at the age of 53 from heart and liver disease.

Dyvenor has portrayed Sally Metcalfe on Corrie since 1986.
