Coronavirus: New Zealand has 15 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the community

New Zealand has 15 new cases of COVID-19 in the community, says Director-General of Health Ashley Bloomfield.

All of the new cases are in Auckland.

Today 218 cases are now reported as having recovered from Covid-19.

That brings the total number of active cases in the community to 637 (the total number of cases in this outbreak is now 855).

There are 37 people in hospital, including six patients in intensive care.

New Zealand is now at alert level 2.

Auckland will remain at alert level 4 until 11.59pm on Tuesday 14 September.

Cabinet will meet on Monday next week to reassess the alert levels for the whole country, including Auckland.
