The Prime Minister has revealed that New Zealand will move to alert level 1 at 11.59pm tonight, while Auckland will move to alert level 2 at 11.59pm on Wednesday 23 September.
Cabinet will review Auckland's alert levels again on Monday 5 October, when they will decide whether to adjust them at 11.59pm on Wednesday 7 October.
Jacinda Ardern said the virus is "under control" and there have been no new cases linked to the cluster for seven days.
It comes as the Ministry of Health revealed there are no new cases of Covid-19 in New Zealand today.
In Auckland, mass gatherings will now be capped at 100 people.
Cabinet met today and took into account the advice of Director-General of Health, Ashley Bloomfield.
The factors Cabinet considered included the number of new cases, the types of cases including those unconnected to the current cluster, the capacity of the contact-tracing regime and the health system, economic impacts and the levels of public compliance.
