Danielle Aitchison wins New Zealand’s fourth medal at Tokyo Paralympics

Danielle Aitchison has won New Zealand's fourth medal of the Tokyo Paralympics after claiming silver in the women's T36 200m this afternoon.

China's Shi Yiting equalled her own world record of 28.21sec to take the gold.

While Aitchison finished in 29.88sec, with Germany's Nicole Nicoleitzik rounding out the podium.

Today's medal is the first for the 20-year-old, who has two uncommon types of cerebral palsy (athetoid and ataxia) and is also deaf but can hear with the aid of cochlear implants.
