Dolly Parton celebrates Mother's Day with emotional new song dedicated to her own mum

Country music superstar Dolly Parton has left us with tears in our eyes one again with her beautiful new song.

The '9 To 5' hitmaker celebrated Mother's Day over the weekend by sharing the special tune she had written in honour of her mum.

Taking to social media, Dolly posted a video of her recording the song, while wishing a "Happy Mother's Day" to all the mums in the world.

In the video, the country music queen tells fans: "I don't have my mum here anymore, but I wrote a beautiful song about her that I thought might fit everybody's Mumma."

"Some of us are lucky enough to have our mum's still, some of us have mums in nursing homes, some of us are lucky enough to still be living at home with our Mumma.

"But it's a beautiful day and we always like to honour our mothers ... Having a wonderful mum is one of the greatest gifts that God can bestow on any of us."
