Earlier this month Duran Duran released a cover of David Bowie's 1972 song, 'Five Years' to mark the anniversary of the late rock star's death.

Now they have released a new-wave music video to accompany the cover, which gives the song that extra "Bowie" feel.

Directed by Gavin Elder, the video features all current members of Duran Duran as well as a backing band which also includes David Bowie's longtime pianist Mike Garson surrounded by swirling colours as they tear through the track.

Bowie's original version of the song featured on his album titled The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.

"My life as a teenager was all about David Bowie," frontman Simon Le Bon said in a statement.

"He is the reason why I started writing songs. Part of me still can't believe in his death five years ago, but maybe that's because there's a part of me where he's still alive and always will be."

Bowie died of cancer in 2016, just two days after his 69th birthday.
