Cher and Meryl saved a woman's life

Cher revealed that she and actress Meryl Streep once saved a woman’s life.

Appearing on the Late Late Show the famous singer and actress recounted how the pair helped a woman who was being attacked in New York City.

"We walk down a street and we hear screaming," share told host James Corden.

Going into detail, Cher explained how she and Meryl scared off a "gigantic man" who was "ripping the clothes off this girl".

Cher then revealed what the woman told them when two stars went up to see if she was OK.

"She looks at us and she goes 'oh my god, I was saved by Meryl Streep and Cher … all my friends are going to be so jealous!'"

Cher and Meryl became close friends after starring together in the 1983 film, Silkwood, the two are now starring in the new Mamma Mia! sequel, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
