Nothing cements a friendship quite like making a final project together - as is the case for Tony Bennett, whose new album with Lady Gaga, Love for Sale, will be his last recording following his Alzheimer's diagnosis.

And what better way to go out with a bang than with a concert at New York's Radio City Music Hall.

As the New York-born superstars prepared to take to the stage in August for his last ever concert, the legendary crooner's family invited 60 Minutes to follow him for the landmark event to give hope to others struggling with Alzheimer's.

No one knew for sure if the jazz icon would be able to pull it off, but with the help of his good friend Lady Gaga, Bennett was able to perform at a high level.

"When that music comes on, something happens to him," Gaga told Anderson Cooper.

"He knows exactly what he's doing and what's important for me, actually, is to make sure that I don't get in the way of that."

Bennett's family revealed in February that he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2016.
