It's no secret New York suffered greatly from the coronavirus pandemic, but Stephen Colbert, Sara Bareilles, Idina Menzel and more know what the city's needing ... and they're not gonna waste more time.
Performing in front of some of the city's most iconic landmarks, the celebrities belted out Billy Joel's 1976 anthem 'New York State of Mind' in tribute to the Big Apple.
According to the New York Times, the Piano Man himself gave permission to volunteer organisation NYCNext to use his song in an attempt to uplift the spirits of the city.

Joel’s daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, also participates in the song, as do the New York Yankees, Suzanne Vega, Joan Osbourne and more.
"This was another moment where New York could really use a song that speaks to the romance and the resiliency and the beauty of New York," the video's producer Tom Kitt said.
