It's a situation every parent can relate to ... but when most children go wandering after you've said goodnight it doesn't interrupt a broadcast to the entire nation.

Taking to Facebook, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern was sharing an update on New Zealand's Covid response when her daughter Neve adorably decided to gatecrash the live stream.

As Ardern was discussing the new traffic light system a tiny voice could be heard in the background saying: "Mummy..."

"You're meant to be in bed darling," Ardern responded to the three-year-old. "It's bedtime darling, pop back to bed, I'll come and see you in a second."

After telling viewers that she thought she had found a "safe" time to go live, Ardern went on to address other pressing Covid issues before the familiar voice was heard again, undeterred.

"I'm sorry darling, it is taking so long," Ardern told her daughter, before telling viewers that she would have to call time on the video to put Neve to put bed because it was "way past her bedtime".

Too cute!
