We're throwing it back to one of the must-see musical moments of the eighties - when George Michael was invited to perform a special duet at the 50th anniversary of the historic Apollo Theater in Harlem.

As part of Motown Returns to the Apollo on May 4, 1985, 21-year-old Michael dazzled the crowd with a flawless rendition of his classic hit 'Careless Whisper' with soul legend Smokey Robinson.

The three-hour TV special saw an impressive line-up of 60 entertainers perform, including Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, James Brown, Patti LaBelle and many more.

The 'Faith' hitmaker had the honour of being one of only three white artists asked to perform, alongside Boy George and Rod Stewart.
