Robbie Williams has officially been turned into a hologram ... and fans aren't keen on it.

The 46-year-old singer teamed up with English rock band The Struts to perform their brand new single, 'Strange Days' at ITV's Soccer Aid last night.

Dressed in a white jacket, the father-of-four belted out the song's lyrics while the live band played their instruments around him.

Earlier in the night, the 'Angels' hitmaker explained he was unable to attend the charity football match in person as he was stuck at home in Los Angeles following the coronavirus travel ban.

However, viewers were left confused when he appeared as an "8ft tall" hologram.

"I did not think 2020 could get any weirder then comes #SoccerAid and the Robbie Williams hologram," joked one watcher.

Another asked: "What the hell have I just witnessed? Looks like they've just copy and pasted Robbie Williams into that performance."

A third added: "Robbie Williams is doing a strange Obi Wan Kenobi hologram impression ... it's the weirdest thing on my television #SoccerAid."

While someone else joked: "So Robbie Williams is apparently scraping 8ft tall #SoccerAid."

Soccer Aid is the brainchild of Robbie Williams and his friend Jonathan Wilkes. The matches between England and the World XI have raised more than £38m for Unicef since 2006.
