We've known him as 'The Beast' for as long as he's been famous, but on a recent episode of the much-loved game show, Mark Labbett wasn't very beast-like ...

The 56-year-old has won praise from fans after he made a thoughtful gesture to ensure the competition for a contestant was fair.

When going head-to-head with partially blind contestant Annah, The Chase star decided to close his eyes while answering his set of questions.

This meant he wasn't able to read them ahead and had to rely on them being read to him as Annah did.

People watching the show were blown away by the heartwarming gesture with many commending the quizmaster for his decision.

One person on Twitter said: "@MarkLabbett not looking at the questions against Annah. Touch of class."

Another commented: "@MarkLabbett was keeping his eyes closed for Annah's questions - making it a level playing field with consummate respect and integrity shown by The Beast."

A third added: "Maybe the Beast isn't so beastly after all?"

Annah also wowed fans by bagging herself £7,000 in the cash builder to add to the groups total.

She, along with her teammates Rachel and Dave, also managed to beat Mark in the final chase and took home £15,000 between them.
