If you're a fan of Netflix’s swoon-worthy series Virgin River we've got some exciting news for you ...

The trailer for the third season is officially here!

That's right, we've finally got our first look at the upcoming season of the romantic drama – based on the best-selling book series by Robyn Carter - and we can't wait to dive in!

Following a dramatic cliffhanger during season two, the show is coming back to answer old questions and maybe create some new ones.

The show, which stars Alexandra Breckenridge and New Zealand’s own heartthrob, Martin Henderson - who you may recognise from Shortland Street, Bride and Prejudice, and of course, Grey’s Anatomy - ended its season two finale with Jack getting shot in his bar.

While the season three trailer for teases that Jack does successfully make it through, there is still the question of who shot him.

Virgin River follows nurse practitioner Melinda (Breckenridge) who moves from LA to the small town of Virgin River to escape her painful past.

There she meets the charming Jack (Henderson), the owner of the local bar, and a former Marine. However, Mel’s transition to small-town living doesn’t go as smoothly as she expected and it’s not long until drama - and romance - ensues.

Virgin River also stars Vampire Diaries actor Daniel Gillies - who also happens to be a Kiwi - Smallville star Annette O’Toole and The West Wing's Tim Matheson.

The first and second season of Virgin River is available to stream on Netflix now and we can't wait for the third season's release!
