TV presenter Samantha Hayes shares heartwarming video of her children watching her news return

After being on maternity leave for the past five months, Samantha Hayes has made her return to work ... and her children couldn't be prouder.

The newsreader took to Instagram last night to share a heartwarming video of her two children watching their mother back on TV.

In the video, her five-month-old daughter Amaya can be seen sitting on the couch next to her brother Marlow.

"Mama news!" Marlow shouts out, proudly pointing at the television as his mother presented Newshub's 6pm bulletin.

Ahead of her return to work yesterday, the 37-year-old penned an honest post about how she felt about returning to work.

"Feeling emotional about saying goodbye to this little one today, but she's happily ensconced at home with her Dad.

"Thankfully the toddler wasn't bothered I was off to work for the first time in five months."

Hayes and her partner Jeroen "Jay" Blaauw welcomed their baby girl in September 2021, two years after welcoming their son Marlow in September 2019.
