Fifty years ago 'Peace Train' became one of the most iconic hits from the '70s - and last year in honour of the International Day of Peace, Yusuf/Cat Stevens corralled a global cast of musicians for a beautiful rendition of the song.

Joining Yusuf — who appears at a white piano in a tranquil open-air setting in Istanbul Istanbul, Turkey — are over 25 musicians from 12 countries, their contributions seamlessly combined to create a song that transcends genre or style.

Featured musicians include Pat Simmons (The Doobie Brothers), James "Hutch" Hutchinson (bass player with Bonnie Raitt), five-time Grammy Award-winning blues/Americana artist Keb’ Mo’ and Grammy-nominated Senegalese artist Baaba Maal.

'Peace Train' was originally released on the classic album Teaser and the Firecat in 1971 and was Stevens’ first US Top 10 hit, reaching number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Still to this day, it is a timeless anthem of hope and unity.
