This is the best news. EVER!

That's right! Science says forget the gym because a hot bath might be just as effective as exercise when it comes to your health.

Researchers at Loughborough University have found that a hot bath is not only relaxing, but it might also actually have similar benefits to working out thanks to “passive heating.”

AND it could also help prevent type 2 diabetes.

Scientist's compared the effect of a hot bath on blood sugar control and the number of calories burned versus exercise.

Participants were tested after an hour-long bath at 40˚ Celsius and an hour-long bike ride.

Unsurprisingly, the bike ride burned more calories, but the bath burned as many calories as a 30-minute brisk walk.

Dr Steve Faulkner, the head researcher, said: "Passive heating may contribute to reducing chronic inflammation, which is often present with long-term diseases, such as type 2 diabetes."

So if you're not feeling up to the gym today, just go home and have bath!
