Matty Mclean leaves Breakfast co-hosts in stitches after he disappeared mid-show

No one can accuse Matty Mclean of letting them down when it comes to the weather ... until today.

The Breakfast weatherman left his co-hosts in stitches when he disappeared mid-show this morning.

Jenny-May Clarkson, Hayley Holt and John Campbell revealed to viewers the much-loved presenter had left early after he accidentally booked a flight to Nelson at what he thought was 10.45am, but it was actually 9.25am.

Needless to say, it didn't take long for Hayley to step in to take his place, but things got off to a rough start when the clicker didn't work.

Soon Jenny-May took over to give the South Island its forecast.

She also had trouble when she couldn't read the autocue.
