Wrongly-imprisoned singer stuns with powerful Elton John cover on America's Got Talent

While the new season of America's Got Talent is yet to begin, Simon Cowell has just given fans a preview of one of the show's most inspiring auditions of all time.

Taking to social media, the music mogul shared a video of Archie Williams' audition ahead of the series debut.

Archie, who was wrongfully imprisoned for 37 years after a woman was stabbed and raped in her home in 1982, stunned the show's judges with his emotional performance Elton John's hit 'Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me.'

Alongside the clip, Simon wrote: "This is Archie Williams. I will never forget this audition for the rest of my life. And I'll never listen to this song in the same way ever again."

Not only did his emotional audition earn him a standing ovation from the entire crowd, but there also wasn't a dry eye in sight.

Just wow.
