Bradley Walsh was left utterly bewildered on a recent episode of The Chase when one contestant swiftly rushed off set, leaving the host standing completely on his own.

Facing off against chaser Anne Hegerty, who is also known as the Governess, James managed to accumulate a decent £3,000 in the cash builder round.

However, following his round against the quizmaster, the former maths teacher quickly made his way back to his seat on the contestants' panel, completely throwing off Bradley and Anne's routine.

Usually, after the round, Bradley speaks to both the contestant and the Chaser about how they’re feeling.

While a bewildered Bradley watched on, Anne could be heard saying through laughter: "James, come back."

As James made his way back following his disappearing act, Bradley exclaimed: "You might have been a great teacher, but you would've been the worst pupil ever."

Fair point!
