Jenny Thomas always knew she was adopted, but that was ALL she knew about her birth family. Her only other clue was the fact that her mother was Caucasian and her father was African American.

Jenny searched for her birth mother over the past 15 years, but hadn't come any closer to finding her.

Thanks to TLC's new TV show, Long Lost Family, they were able to locate her birth mother.

But, the biggest shock came when the host revealed a manila envelope which held one item: a photo of Jenny's birth mother.

When she looked at the photo, Jenny was visibly shocked.

She said, "I know her!"

It turns out the woman in the photo, Nita Valdez, had worked with Jenny a few years prior at a hospital.

Ironically, Jenny had once considered the possibility that Valdez could be her mother.

"I always had that in the back of my mind," Jennys told Time Warner. "Does she know me? Is she looking because I look familiar? Right there, next to me, for a couple years, working side-by-side, talking with her, laughing with her".
